You MUST do this if you have a Podcast

The most important thing to do if you have a podcast is to promote it. Market your podcast! This means you need Marketing material…

How important is Marketing Material? I’d say it’s up there with your podcast launch strategy. Because after you’ve done all the work of producing your podcast and you’re ready to share it to the world… you need to actually reach people! And to grow your podcast, you’ll need to reach new people daily.

To reach those new people, you HAVE to give yourself the best chance, so marketing material is key… and I’m not just talking about one post. I’m talking about mastering a social media platform and posting the best content possible.

So what type of content?

  • Shorter Videos
  • Longer Videos
  • Full podcast videos
  • Graphics
  • Quote images
  • Visualisers

Of course, if your podcast is just audio, then just focus on Visualisers, Graphics and Quotes! But if you’ve got a podcast that is also a video, capitalise on that and master all kinds of material that you can use for marketing.

You might ask… how can I get marketing material?

Well, you either hire a podcast editor and get them to create the marketing material for you. Or you create it yourself!

You can use platforms such as:

  • Veed.io
  • Premiere Pro
  • Final Cut Pro
  • Sony Vegas

And a great place to get templates from is Envato Elements! It’s a subscription-based platform, but if you’re someone who wants templates for most areas of your podcast, this is a gamechanger.

Now, what about posting? Where should you post? I suggest picking one platform and mastering it. However, you can master 3 platforms at once and here’s how…

TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts have basically the same feature, you’re able to upload short yet engaging videos to their platform and this is the perfect way of reaching new viewers! Due to their format, it’s easy to get clips to get viral, let alone just a few viewers. Take TikTok, there’s people going from 0 followers to over 10,000 overnight, if not more!

So you must capitalise on that method.

If not, choose a platform such as:

  • Facebook *Facebook Groups in particular*
  • Instagram *Reels & IGTV in particular*
  • TikTok
  • YouTube
  • LinkedIn
  • Pinterest

As I said above, if your podcast is just audio, then focus on the visualizers and focus on the graphic style content. I also recommend Facebook Groups or Instagram if you’re going down that route.
